Michael Clemente won back to back state championships for Gonzaga high school in 2005 and in 2006 and was one of the key factors in both championship games. His play at Gonazga combined with his stellar performance with the Washington Jr. Capitals last year, helped him attract the attention of all major junior teams in North America. This past season, he joined the US National Development U-17 Team in Ann Arbor Michigan and was just the just second player from our region to accomplish this feat, along with Steven Werner, a Washington capitals draft pick. This is tremendous accomplishment as he becomes one of only two goal tenders in the country to earn a spot on the prestigious under 17 national team. Along with this accomplishment, he was recently drafted, buy the Brampton Battalion of the OHL, the same team, as our own Luke Lynes (above). |
